Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) Yesterday morning, Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the National Security and Peace Council, General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Council Secretary-General Ye Win Oo and Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, inspected urban development projects in Pyin Oo Lwin.

During the inspection, General Min Aung Hlaing inspected the progress of projects undertaken by the Pyin Oo Lwin Township Development Committee, including road widening (to 24 feet), bridge construction, canal excavation, asphalt paving, and thermoplastic paint marking on roads in Districts 8 and 10 and the newly built Padtha Town. He provided guidance on these projects.

General Min Aung Hlaing also inspected urban development initiatives at the Pyin Oo Lwin railway station. Union Minister of Transport U Myo Tun Oo and Deputy Minister U Aung Myo briefed the attendees on the progress of projects including a stadium, gymnasium, staff dormitories, a four-story modern hotel at the station, and a shopping center. They also introduced subsequent project plans and the train operation status of the Pyin Oo Lwin-Gud Railway section.

In response to the report, Min Aung Hlaing emphasized the need for scientific and efficient land use and a systematic approach to the development of Pyin Oo Lwin. He stressed that both Pyin Oo Lwin and Kalaw railway stations are historically significant sites, and that architectural preservation is crucial to creating a clean, aesthetically pleasing, and comfortable station environment.

He pointed out that urban development projects and greening initiatives can attract domestic and international tourists and increase national income. The opening of the Pyin Oo Lwin-Gud viaduct railway will allow people to experience local customs and natural scenery; therefore, all necessary safeguards must be in place to ensure passenger safety.

Subsequently, Min Aung Hlaing inspected the progress of the Anisa Khan Airport upgrade and responded to a report from Federal Minister U Myo Tun Oo and relevant officials on conducting systematic calculations to achieve long-term benefits in the context of tourism, trade, and development prospects.
