Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the morning of April 10, 2026, the 15th Vietnam International Tourism Exhibition (VITM-2026), with the core theme of “Digital Transformation and Green Growth – Enhancing the Status of Vietnam’s Tourism Industry,” officially opened at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace in Hanoi (Address: 91 Tran Hung Dao Street, Hanoi). Organized by the Vietnam Tourism Association and supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, this exhibition serves as an important platform for domestic and international tourism enterprises to connect resources and deepen cooperation, and also provides tourists with an excellent opportunity to enjoy multiple tourism benefits.
In his opening remarks, Ho An Phong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam, stated that despite facing multiple external challenges in 2025, Vietnam successfully achieved several socio-economic development goals, with tourism continuing to be a “shining example” of economic recovery. Data shows that in 2025, Vietnam received 21.5 million international tourists and 135 million domestic tourists, generating over 100 trillion VND in tourism revenue, demonstrating a strong recovery momentum.
Hu Anfeng emphasized that this achievement not only confirms Vietnam's unique appeal as an international tourist destination but also highlights the crucial role of tourism in driving economic growth, creating jobs, disseminating national cultural values, and enhancing the country's international image. He pointed out that Vietnam's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is actively promoting the "Smart Tourism Digital Transformation Plan 2025-2030," and the theme of this exhibition highly aligns with global tourism development trends and Vietnam's national strategic direction, effectively helping the industry stimulate consumer demand, incubate innovative products, and improve the professional skills of human resources.
While acknowledging the Vietnam Tourism Association's positive contributions as an industry bridge in supporting business development and promoting the recovery and growth of the tourism industry, Hu Anfeng stated that he believes VITM-2026, with its rich and diverse activities, will build an efficient platform for domestic and international provinces and cities, as well as tourism enterprises, to connect, deepen multi-party cooperation, promote the high-quality development of Vietnam's tourism industry towards green and sustainable development, and further enhance its position in the international tourism market.
Cao Thi Ngoc Lan, Executive Vice President of the Vietnam Tourism Association, introduced that this year's exhibition has reached a new record in scale, attracting over 600 organizations and enterprises from 31 provinces and cities in Vietnam and 20 countries and regions, with nearly 400 booths, of which international booths account for approximately 15%. It is expected that the exhibition will attract over 80,000 visitors to exchange ideas and participate in various professional activities and interactive experiences.
It is understood that the 15th Vietnam International Tourism Exhibition will continue until April 13th, during which a series of professional forums, project matchmaking meetings, and other supporting activities will be held concurrently, injecting new momentum into the industry's development. (End)
