
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com), April 9, 2026 – Cambodian Minister of Tourism, Hua Ha, met with Czech Ambassador to Cambodia, Markéta Kolc Hájková, on the same day. The two sides held in-depth exchanges on deepening bilateral tourism cooperation and reached several consensuses on further expanding cooperation avenues.
During the meeting, the Czech Ambassador highly praised Cambodia's development achievements in various fields, especially affirming the booming development of the tourism industry. She recalled her first visit to Cambodia 15 years ago, expressing her amazement at the leapfrog growth of Cambodia's tourism industry, and pointing out that this achievement is due to the Cambodian government's maintenance of peace and stability, good social order, and full protection of tourist safety.
Minister Hua Ha expressed her sincere gratitude to the Warsaw government and people for their valuable support during Cambodia's national reconstruction process since 1981. She stated that the number of Czech tourists visiting Cambodia in recent years has shown a steady upward trend, fully demonstrating the enormous potential for tourism cooperation between the two countries.
Both sides reached a consensus, agreeing to prioritize tourism development as a key task in bilateral cooperation. They pledged to deepen cooperation through joint promotional activities and the formulation of practical action plans, aiming to continuously increase mutual tourist visits and elevate bilateral tourism cooperation to a higher level.
It is understood that Cambodia and the Czech Republic have maintained close and friendly diplomatic relations since establishing diplomatic ties in 1956, achieving fruitful results in cooperation across various fields. Notably, His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia studied in the Czech Republic and is fluent in Czech, a unique connection that imbues the friendship between the two countries with distinctive cultural significance and lays a solid foundation for bilateral cooperation in various fields.
