Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with the An Giang Provincial People's Committee, will hold a ceremony at Phu Quoc International Airport in mid-December 2025 to welcome Vietnam's 20 millionth international tourist this year.

The event will include a welcome ceremony for the 20 millionth tourist, as well as welcome ceremonies for three special tourists (the 19,999,999th, 20,000,000th, and 2,000,001st). These tourists will receive gifts bearing the unique characteristics of Phu Quoc Island, reflecting the appreciation and hospitality of Vietnam's tourism industry.

Choosing Phu Quoc Island as the venue for the event is deeply symbolic, as it not only represents a vibrant new destination for Vietnamese tourism but also boasts a modern resort ecosystem that harmoniously blends with its unique natural landscape, thus creating a prominent mark for this unforgettable moment in Vietnamese tourism.

According to statistics, Vietnam received approximately 19 million international tourists in the first 11 months of 2025, a 20.4% increase compared to the same period in 2024. The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism believes that, based on the stable growth momentum in the fourth quarter of 2025 and the continued recovery of international tourism demand, achieving the target of 20 million international tourists by mid-December 2025 is assessed as feasible and has a solid foundation.

This achievement fully affirms the effectiveness of the consistent guidance provided by the Vietnamese government and the Prime Minister in deploying tasks and solutions to promote the recovery and development of the tourism industry. These correct and complementary initiatives and policies help consolidate Vietnam's position as a safe, attractive, and increasingly competitive destination in the region and the world.

Welcoming 20 million international tourists is a milestone of particular significance for Vietnam's tourism industry, marking a significant transformation in its scale and position on the global tourism map. This impressive figure affirms Vietnam's growing attractiveness as a leading regional destination.

This is also vivid evidence of the strong recovery of the international tourism market in the post-pandemic era, demonstrating Vietnam's effective adaptation to the global recovery trend. The steady growth momentum and increasingly high repeat visitor rate reflect the industry's sustainable development and affirm the adaptability and competitiveness of Vietnam's tourism industry in this new phase.

More importantly, the milestone of 20 million international tourists demonstrates the growing confidence of international tourists in Vietnam as a safe, friendly, and experience-rich tourist destination. This provides momentum for Vietnam to achieve its goal of receiving 35 million international tourists by 2030, and helps Vietnam's tourism industry truly become a significant economic sector, enhancing the country's brand image on the international stage.
