Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Cambodian Government-Private Sector Forum Tourism Working Group (Group B) held an emergency meeting on the 5th to develop an action plan for a visa-free pilot program for Chinese citizens traveling from China, aiming to maximize economic benefits and ensure the efficient and secure implementation of the policy.
The meeting, chaired by Minister of Tourism Hua Ha, focused on developing specific action plans and implementation strategies to ensure the visa-free pilot program for Chinese tourists achieves efficient and successful results by 2026.
The meeting brought together approximately 130 representatives from the government and private sector, including Duke Chen Fengming, President of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Government-Private Sector Forum Private Sector Coordination Committee; Mr. Lu Yuming, Co-Chair of the Government-Private Sector Tourism Working Group; representatives from relevant ministries and agencies; leadership from the Ministry of Tourism; private sector members of the Tourism Working Group; representatives from tourism associations; representatives from Cambodia Airways, Angkor Airways, and other airlines; and tourism industry professionals.
It is worth mentioning that, based on the application from the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism and the Tourism Working Group of the Royal Government-Private Sector Forum, and with the support of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Royal Government of Cambodia has obtained Prime Minister Hun Manet's approval to implement a visa-free pilot policy for Chinese citizens departing from China from June 15 to October 15, 2026.

During this pilot period, Chinese citizens do not need to apply for a visa in advance, nor do they need to pay any visa fees. They only need to fill out an electronic arrival card to enter Cambodia, with a maximum stay of 14 days per entry. Chinese tourists can travel to and from Cambodia multiple times during the pilot policy's validity period.
Based on the principles of "consultation, joint construction, shared responsibility, and shared benefits," Minister Hua Ha recommends that all relevant ministries/agency and the private sector widely publicize this important information and develop detailed plans.
They should deploy and implement actions within their respective responsibilities and professional scopes to ensure that the visa-free pilot policy for Chinese citizens achieves maximum economic benefits and implementation effectiveness.

All participants, including representatives from both the government and the private sector, expressed their immense joy and gratitude to Prime Minister Hun Manet for approving the visa-free pilot program for Chinese citizens. They unanimously agreed that this policy will greatly contribute to supporting Cambodia's economic growth momentum during its "Green Season."
