Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) Japan continues to support Laos in cultivating high-caliber talent, strengthening Laos' administrative capacity and developmental institutions through deepened cooperation in human resource development, becoming one of Laos' most important partners in its development process. Recently, the Lao-Japan Human Resource Development Institute (LJI) and the National University of Laos jointly held a seminar focusing on the core role of human resource development in national development and sharing experiences and future directions of Japan-Laos cooperation.
Professor Tesanura Senedouande, President of the National University of Laos, stated at the seminar that this meeting brought together experts from both countries to review the achievements of Japan-Laos cooperation in the field of human resource development, providing an important platform for both sides to share perspectives, expand knowledge, and deepen cooperation. He emphasized that human resource development is a core pillar of Laos' progress and the foundation for economic growth, social stability, and cultural prosperity. "For Laos, investing in talent is not only a priority but also a necessary condition for achieving sustainable development and prosperity." It is understood that Japan has provided Lao students, professionals, and administrators with abundant learning and growth opportunities through various initiatives such as scholarships, cultural exchange programs, and business training programs, helping them accumulate valuable knowledge and skills, enhancing their personal capabilities, and promoting Laos' overall development. In addition to talent cultivation, cooperation between the two sides extends to the field of administrative capacity building. Japan supports institutional reforms and capacity-building projects to continuously improve the governance level and efficiency of Lao public administration, ensuring that the benefits of human resource development reach all communities nationwide.
Japanese Ambassador to Laos, Tsutomu Koizumi, pointed out that the cooperation between the Lao-Japan Institute (LJI) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has played a transformative role in strengthening Laos' human capital and promoting business development. "The two sides have worked together to cultivate a large number of high-quality enterprises and highly skilled personnel, making a significant contribution to Laos' socio-economic development."
It is noteworthy that in 2024, as the two countries celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, they will formally upgrade their bilateral relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership. Both Japan and Laos share the common vision that "empowering the people is the core driving force of national development." Japan's continued support has become an important cornerstone in Laos' education, skills development, and cultural exchange, helping Laos shape a better future. (End)
