
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Yesterday morning at 8:00 AM, the grand celebration of the 79th anniversary of the founding of Shan State was held at the Awaya Hot Air Stadium in Taunggyi. Lieutenant General Ya'er Pi'ai, Minister of Border Affairs and Ethnic Affairs of the Union of Myanmar, Tin Oo Lwin, Minister of Religious Affairs and Culture of the Union of Myanmar, and several other Union ministers, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung, the Commander of the Eastern Military Region, the Chief Judge of the Shan State High Court, as well as officials from various levels of government in Shan State, representatives of social organizations, ethnic literary and cultural groups, village committee directors, and local residents attended the celebration.
At the ceremony, Lieutenant General Ya'er Pi'ai read a speech on behalf of Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Chairman of the National Security and Peace Council, U Aung Aung. Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung also delivered a speech at the ceremony. Following the speeches, the 79th Anniversary Commemorative Exhibition of Shan State officially opened. Lieutenant General Ya'er Pi'ai, along with several Union ministers, U Aung Aung, and Brigadier General Kyaw Naing Oo, Commander of the Eastern Military Region, cut the ribbon for the exhibition.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Lieutenant General Yar Pi'e presented awards to representatives of the Shan State cultural troupe, the Xi Lai ethnic group, the ethnic literature and culture troupe, and the ribbon-cutting and tray-carrying groups. He also visited the on-site stalls showcasing traditional ethnic cuisine, government and business representatives, small and medium-sized enterprises, and traditional ethnic costumes. On the same day, the 79th Shan State Day Commemoration and Awards Ceremony was held at the Taunggyi City Hall. U Aung Aung delivered the opening address, and certificates and awards were presented to individuals, organizations, and civil servants who have made outstanding contributions to the development and administration of Shan State. Union ministers presented awards to recipients of several categories, including the Panglong Gunni Award, the Award for Excellence in Management, and the Award for Excellence in Security and Law Enforcement. The Chief Minister of Shan State, the Commander of the Eastern Military Region, and relevant officials from the Shan State judicial and administrative systems also presented awards to the corresponding recipients.
On the day of the celebration, Lieutenant General Yar Pier also visited the Ethnic Youth Development Training School in the Sai Kham Border Region of the Pa-ao Self-Administered Zone in Shan State (South). After listening to work reports from the principals of the training school and the Women's Vocational Training Center and understanding the school's development needs, he emphasized that relevant federal departments are promoting the implementation of policies related to border peace and stability, socio-economic development of ethnic minority communities, and youth human resource development. He pointed out that youth are the core of the country's future and that it is necessary to cultivate their time management, health literacy, and other abilities. Through physical, intellectual, and reasoning training, they should grow into citizens trusted by the region and the country. Subsequently, he inspected the school's dormitories, canteen, library, and other infrastructure, as well as the campus environment and seasonal crop cultivation.
After visiting the training school, Lieutenant General Yar Pier visited the Sai Kham Women's Vocational Training Center, where he observed students sewing fashionable shirts and inspected the center's dormitory, canteen operations, seasonal crop cultivation, food production, and other logistical support work.
That evening, Lieutenant General Yar Pier and his delegation attended the 79th Shan State Day banquet held at the Awaya Hot Air Ball Stadium in Taunggyi. The Chief Minister of Shan State delivered a thank-you speech at the banquet, and a traditional ethnic dance performance was also staged, bringing the celebration to a successful close.
