Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Recently, the Lao Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MOIC) officially issued a nationwide decree imposing new management requirements on the country's e-commerce industry: all e-commerce practitioners, whether individuals or enterprises, must complete registration and filing procedures and strictly comply with the new administrative regulations. This decree will officially take effect on February 1, 2026.

To facilitate the relevant procedures for operators, the new policy provides two registration and filing methods: one is to go to the E-commerce Management Department of the Lao Ministry of Domestic Trade for in-person processing; the other is to submit an online application through the country's newly launched Electronic Trust (E-Trust) system.

According to the Lao Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the core objective of the E-Trust system is to reduce the burden on e-commerce sellers and increase efficiency, especially benefiting micro and small enterprises and operators in remote provinces. The system supports one-stop online processing, allowing operators to complete the entire process of e-commerce qualification registration and license application without having to travel in person.

It is worth noting that this new regulation applies to the entire country of Laos and has no restrictions on transaction channels, encompassing all online sales activities conducted through social media platforms such as Facebook and TikTok, official corporate websites, instant messaging software, and other digital channels.
