Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Lao People's Democratic Republic celebrates its 50th anniversary with a two-day grand celebration. The country's party and government leaders and citizens will commemorate this important historical moment. The celebrations include a tribute ceremony, a grand military parade, and other events, with high-ranking guests from several friendly countries in attendance. The series of activities officially kicked off on December 1st.

On December 1st, the celebrations began with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum. Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of Laos, along with members of the Politburo, senior party members, and ministers, gathered to pay tribute to the national heroes and founding leaders. The ceremony proceeded according to the established program: the party and government delegation first laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and after the ceremony, the motorcade proceeded to the Kaysone Phomvihane Museum to lay flowers.

On December 2nd, the core celebrations were held at That Luang Square. Starting that morning, the parade contingents, veterans, monks, members of mass organizations, invited guests, and overseas Lao expatriates gradually gathered at the square. Ambassadors and foreign guests took their seats first, followed by Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith, along with former leaders and dignitaries. High-level delegations from friendly countries also arrived.

A major highlight of this celebration was the attendance of high-level guests from many countries: General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam, was present; China sent its top political advisor, Wang Huning; Cuba was represented by Martha Ayala, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee; Russia by Nikolai Zhuravlev, Vice Chairman of the Federation Council; and Cambodia by Prince Tea Banh, Vice Chairman of the Cambodian People's Party.

The grand gathering and parade at That Luang Square began in the early morning. After the Lao People's Military Band played the national anthem, the organizing committee invited President Thongloun to deliver a congratulatory address before the parade. This parade was one of the largest in Lao history, with the participation of the Lao National Defense Forces, security forces, representatives from various ministries, and ethnic groups. Helicopter and fighter jet flight demonstrations were also arranged.

The military parade is expected to conclude that afternoon, followed by a National Day banquet at the National Convention Center that evening, with a simultaneous fireworks display at That Luang Square, broadcast live to the banquet venue.

This celebration of the 50th anniversary of Laos' founding is not only a historic milestone in Laos' development, showcasing the unity of the Lao people and reflecting the country's deep friendship with its international partners, but also heralds a new stage of development for Laos.
