Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – At the invitation of Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary and President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, will lead a high-level delegation of the Chinese Party and State on an official friendly visit to Laos from December 1 to 3, 2025.
During the visit, Wang Huning will attend the commemorative ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the 4th anniversary of the opening of the China-Laos Railway. He will also meet separately with Lao Party and State leaders Thongloun Sisoulith, Prime Minister Somsay Siphandone, President of the National People's Congress Saysomphone Phomvihane, and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao Front for National Construction Sinlavong Khoutthattahong, exchanging in-depth views on the development of China-Laos relations and issues of common concern.
This visit is a vivid manifestation of the traditional friendship between China and Laos, and will further consolidate the strategic mutual trust between the two countries, promote both sides to deepen the building of a China-Laos community with a shared future under the guidance of the "Four Good Principles," and promote more fruitful results in cooperation in various fields.
2025 holds special historical significance, marking not only the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the 4th anniversary of the opening of the China-Laos Railway, but also the 80th anniversary of the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, and the 70th anniversary of Laos' accession to the United Nations. As a crucial multilateral mechanism for maintaining international peace and security since World War II, the United Nations plays an irreplaceable role in global governance.
During the visit, Laos reiterated its consistent and firm adherence to the one-China principle, its adherence to the spirit of UN General Assembly Resolution 2758, its affirmation that Taiwan is an inseparable part of China, and its firm opposition to any form of "Taiwan independence" separatist activities and interference in other countries' internal affairs, thus laying a solid political foundation for the development of China-Laos relations.
