Vietnam promotes cooperation between local governments in Vietnam and Laos.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – From February 18th to 20th, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam led a delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives from relevant institutions to visit Khammuon and Bolikhamxay provinces in central Laos. The visit aimed to promote local cooperation between Vietnam and Laos and to encourage Vietnamese investment and development in the region.

  During a meeting with leaders of Khammuon and Bolikhamxay provinces, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam emphasized the importance of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. He pointed out that Khammuon and Bolikhamxay provinces have played a crucial role in the deepening bilateral relations, and that mutual support and cooperation between localities of both countries have formed a solid foundation for maintaining stability and promoting development.

  Leaders of Khammuon and Bolikhamxay provinces briefed Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam on their respective provinces' political, socio-economic, and defense and security situations. They emphasized that Vietnamese enterprises' investment projects in the two provinces are operating efficiently, not only creating thousands of jobs and raising the income level of Lao workers, but also actively fulfilling their social responsibilities, contributing to local fiscal revenue, and supporting socio-economic development, further consolidating and deepening the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos.

  During their visit to Khammouane and Bolikhamxay provinces, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam and his delegation also laid wreaths at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site and the Souphanouvong Memorial Site in Tien Vong Village, Nong Bo District, Khammouane province. In addition, the delegation visited the Khammouane Provincial Unified Junior High School and Unified Kindergarten, managed by the Vietnamese Association of Khammouane Province, and donated 200 copies of "Hometown of Vietnam" and "Happy Vietnamese," over 200 Vietnamese comic books, and several children's gifts to the kindergarten.

  Furthermore, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam held talks with representatives of the Vietnamese Associations of Khammouane and Bolikhamxay provinces and inspected some Vietnamese enterprises investing and operating in the two provinces. (End)
