Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the morning of September 10, Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of Laos, led a high-level delegation of the Lao Party and State to Hanoi to begin a state visit to Vietnam from September 10 to 13 at the invitation of To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President of Vietnam, and his wife.
Luong Cuong, Member of the Politburo and Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee; Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and Minister of External Relations; and Vu Thi Anh Xuan, Member of the Central Committee and Vice President of Vietnam, were among those who greeted Thongloun at the airport.
Accompanying Thongloun on his visit to Vietnam were Bounthong Chimany, Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Vice President of Vietnam; Somxay Siphandone, Prime Minister of Laos; and Chansamone Chanyala, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Laos.
The visit to Vietnam by Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of Laos, is the second visit since the start of the term of the 11th Lao People's Revolutionary Party Congress (January 2021), and a return visit following the state visit to Laos by Comrade To Lam, who had just assumed the presidency of Vietnam, in July 2024. It reflects the great friendship, special solidarity, and profound affection between Vietnam and Laos and their people.
This visit took place against the backdrop of both parties and countries vigorously implementing their respective party resolutions and actively preparing for party congresses at all levels and their respective national congresses. Vietnam-Laos relations are showing a positive development trend and have achieved many important results.
This visit is one of the important milestones in the history of bilateral relations, and will help to elevate the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos to a new level, making it more effective and pragmatic, and benefiting the people of both countries.
