Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On September 3rd, the new office building of the Golden Triangle International Port officially opened. Songvong Lovansai, Director of the Finance Department of Bokeo Province; Sila Sendara, Director of the Foreign Affairs Department of Bokeo Province; Bounthong Chonseygon, Director of the Special Economic Zone Management Office of Bokeo Province; Wang Erbao, President of the Golden Triangle Group; and representatives from the Provincial Public Security Department, the Special Economic Zone Public Security Bureau, the Special Economic Zone Defense Force, and the Special Economic Zone Immigration Bureau attended the opening ceremony and participated in a Buddhist prayer ceremony.
The Golden Triangle International Port is located in the Golden Triangle Special Economic Zone of Bokeo Province, Laos, on the east bank of the Mekong River, at the junction of Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand. It is positioned as a comprehensive international port integrating shipping, commerce, tourism, and leisure. Statistics show that in the first half of 2024 alone, the port handled over 150,000 inbound and outbound passengers.
To meet the growing passenger and freight transport demands at the port, construction of the new office building project commenced in April 2023, with a total investment exceeding 50 million RMB and covering an area of approximately 2.5 hectares. The building is equipped with modern immigration management service facilities, effectively improving the port's clearance efficiency and service quality, and injecting new momentum into regional economic development.
