Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 10th Vietnam-Japan Cultural Festival will be held from March 8th to 9th, 2025, at 9.23 Park in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, with the theme "Joining Hands for a Better Future." Jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Japanese organizing committee, this annual cultural exchange event, rich in the cultural characteristics of both countries, highlights the essence of the "comprehensive strategic partnership" between the two nations. This information was provided at a press conference held on February 28th by the Ho Chi Minh City Foreign Affairs Department and the Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City.
This year's festival will include a series of promotional and exchange activities between Vietnam and Japan in the fields of trade, cuisine, culture, and tourism, and is expected to attract approximately 150 participating organizations. Highlights of this year's event include various cultural, artistic, and sports exchanges, which will help promote solidarity between the younger generations of Vietnam and Japan and widely disseminate the message of "Children – Earth – Future."
Notably, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the successful hosting of the Vietnam-Japan Cultural Festival in Ho Chi Minh City, the "Ho Chi Minh City Cultural Festival" will be held in Tokyo, Japan for the first time. The event is scheduled to be held from November 1st to 2nd, 2025 at the Tokyo International Conference Center, featuring a variety of cultural exchange activities, including Vietnamese cultural exchanges, traditional art performances, martial arts exchanges, an Ao Dai show, and an LED light show depicting typical images of Ho Chi Minh City and Japan.
In addition, the event will include exhibitions and exchange spaces focusing on trade, cuisine, culture, and history; tea ceremony cultural exchanges between the two countries; and trade and investment promotion seminars. This cultural festival not only serves as a good bridge for Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam to better connect with the Japanese people, but also creates favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to strengthen cooperation and connections with their Japanese partners.
Le Truong Duy, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs, emphasized that Vietnam and Japan are not only comprehensive strategic partners, but also true friends. The Vietnam-Japan Cultural Festival is a symbol of the long-standing friendly relations between the two governments and peoples. The successful hosting of the festival over the past 10 years has further demonstrated its important role in promoting cultural exchange, trade and investment, and tourism development, deepening friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries, and laying a solid foundation for increasingly in-depth cooperation.
Ono Masuo, Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, stated that the Vietnam-Japan Cultural Festival has continuously developed and become the largest Vietnam-Japan exchange event in Vietnam. The 9th festival in 2024 attracted over 420,000 visitors, and this year's festival will be even more diverse and exciting, promising visitors a more engaging and enjoyable experience.
