Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) reports that during Cambodia's traditional Water Festival (August 14-16), the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway Company announced a 20% discount on toll fees for the public.

According to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, trucks with a carrying capacity exceeding 10 tons will enjoy a 40% discount on toll fees from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and a 60% discount from 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM the following morning.

The Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway was independently invested, constructed, and operated by China Road and Bridge Corporation using a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) model, with a concession period of 54 years, including a 4-year construction period and a 50-year operation period. Construction began on June 18, 2019, and the expressway officially opened to traffic on October 1, 2022, marking Cambodia's entry into the "expressway era."

This initiative by the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway Company not only provides benefits to the public during the festival but also further promotes the development of the country's transportation infrastructure.
