Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the first day of Cambodia's traditional Water Festival (November 4th), Siem Reap province welcomed a large influx of tourists and locals. Along the Siem Reap River, crowds could be seen strolling, sightseeing, and enjoying boat rides.

Mr. Khun Gren, Deputy Secretary-General of the Siem Reap branch of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), stated on the afternoon of the 4th that although no official dragon boat races were scheduled for this year's celebrations, the Siem Reap provincial government and the UYFC Siem Reap branch collaborated closely to organize a series of diverse and engaging celebratory activities to ensure a joyful occasion for both locals and tourists.

Mr. Khun Gren explained that these activities included boat tours, the "My Siem Reap Home" Friendship Dragon Boat Race, a hand drum concert, exhibition booths, Cambodian boxing, "Barça" theater, and various other entertainment.

All activities were concentrated in the Royal Palace Gardens and along the Siem Reap River, lasting from November 4th to 6th.

He added that Siem Reap province welcomed a large influx of holidaymakers and tourists on the very first day of the Water Festival. Along the riverbank, scenes of people strolling and boating created a joyful and peaceful festive atmosphere.

Mr. Khungelin added that the initial intention behind organizing these activities was to boost the festival's popularity within the province, bringing more benefits to the people of Siem Reap and thus promoting the province's economic development.

He predicted that the number of tourists visiting Siem Reap for tourism and vacation would continue to increase over the next two days.
