Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com), May 6th – The Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts issued a stern announcement explicitly prohibiting any individual or organization from unauthorized reproduction, imitation, or production and use of any ornaments based on the "Highest National Medal." Violators will be held legally responsible. The core purpose of this measure is to uphold the solemnity and sanctity of this symbol of the nation's highest honor.

According to the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts' monitoring, a number of images of clothing and ornaments themed around wedding decorations have recently appeared on social media platforms, some of which clearly plagiarize and imitate the design of the "Highest National Medal." The Ministry emphasized that such behavior violates Article 437 of the Amended Criminal Code, specifically the crime of "copying." As the highest honor awarded by the state to those who have made outstanding contributions, the design of the "Highest National Medal" is strictly protected by law, and any unauthorized imitation, dissemination, or commercial use is illegal.

The announcement explicitly requires all individuals and organizations that have published such infringing content on social media platforms to immediately cease their illegal activities and completely delete the relevant content. The Ministry of Culture and Arts will resolutely initiate legal proceedings and pursue criminal liability against those who refuse to rectify their practices and continue to illegally reproduce or use counterfeit jewelry.

To strengthen policy implementation, the Ministry of Culture and Arts has deployed cultural bureaus in 25 provinces and municipalities across the country to simultaneously enhance market inspections and policy promotion, focusing on key industry groups such as wedding makeup artists, photography agencies, dress rental shops, jewelers, jewelry manufacturers, related artists, and performers, conducting compliance warning education and notification.

The Ministry of Culture and Arts urges relevant practitioners to immediately cease using all jewelry involving the counterfeiting of the "highest national medal," and calls on the whole society to raise legal awareness, jointly safeguard the authority of national honor symbols, and avoid crossing legal red lines due to ignorance or profit-seeking.
