Cambodia's construction industry is poised for significant growth by 2025, with investor confidence continuing to rise.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Cambodia's Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction issued a notice on December 2nd, systematically summarizing the country's construction industry's development achievements and long-term cumulative data for 2025, clearly demonstrating the continued driving force of the construction sector on the national economy.

  Key data from the notice shows that in 2025, the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction and its provincial and municipal counterparts approved a total of 3,503 construction investment projects, with a total agreed investment of US$7.32 billion, a record high for the year. The differences in approval levels and growth highlights are particularly prominent:

  The Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction directly approved 521 projects, with an investment of US$6.74 billion, a significant increase of 73.70% compared to 2024, becoming the core driving force for industry growth; provincial and municipal land management, urban planning and construction departments approved 2,982 projects, with an investment of US$453 million, a year-on-year increase of 27.93%, demonstrating the continued release of grassroots construction investment vitality.

  From a long-term development perspective, the announcement further points out that from 2000 to 2025, Cambodia has approved a total of 72,820 construction investment projects, with a total agreed investment exceeding US$87.696 billion. Over two decades of industry accumulation have laid a solid foundation for economic development.

  In the high-rise building sector, Cambodia's urbanization is particularly evident. To date, the country has approved 228 building projects of five stories or more, exhibiting a "core cluster, multi-point radiation" pattern: Phnom Penh leads as the core city with 103 approved projects; Sihanoukville follows closely with 31; Banteay Meanchey province has approved 111; and other provinces have approved a total of 43.

  In terms of building structure, the approved high-rise projects exhibit a pattern of "primarily low- and mid-rise buildings, with some high-rises as accents": buildings with five to nine floors are the most numerous, totaling 179; buildings with ten to nineteen floors number 89; buildings with twenty to twenty-nine floors number 15; buildings with thirty to thirty-nine floors number 1; and there are 4 super high-rise buildings with over forty floors, demonstrating the potential of Cambodia's construction industry towards high-end development.

  Industry insiders stated that this announcement not only confirms the booming momentum of Cambodia's construction industry but also conveys the strong confidence of domestic and foreign investors in the country's economic prospects. The Cambodian government will subsequently enhance its international influence through diverse measures such as promoting traditional culture, continuously injecting industry momentum into the realization of "Cambodia Vision 2050."
