  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Pailin City, Pailin Province, Cambodia, has received another honor in the field of tourism development, recently being awarded the title of "Smoke-Free Tourism City." This achievement marks significant progress made by Pailin City in improving the tourist experience and public health environment.

  Minister of Tourism, Hua Ha, and Marianna Trias, WHO Representative in Cambodia, jointly presided over the official launch and certification ceremony for Pailin City's designation as a "Smoke-Free Tourism City."

  Pailin City is the ninth city in Cambodia to receive official recognition as a "Smoke-Free Tourism City" from the Ministry of Tourism. Its outstanding smoke-free tourism environment has also received joint certification from the Asia-Pacific Network of Smoke-Free Cities (APSFN), the Southeast Asia Tobacco Control Alliance (SEATCA), and the World Health Organization (WHO), fully affirming Pailin City's efforts and achievements in creating a healthy tourism environment.

  The ceremony was a grand affair, bringing together leaders from the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Health, Pailin Provincial Deputy Governor Han Dareth, as well as officials from central ministries, provincial agencies, district and county governments, tourism operators, representatives from the Cambodian Youth Federation, and youth volunteers from the Cambodian Red Cross, totaling approximately 500 people.

  In his address, Tourism Minister Hua Ha emphasized that, thanks to the collaborative efforts of Pailin Provincial Governor Ban Sirem and successive governors and the provincial government, Pailin Province has continuously transformed itself. Through comprehensive upgrades to public infrastructure, beautification of the urban landscape, and expansion of urban greenbelts, Pailin has successfully created a fresh and beautiful city image, increasingly attracting domestic and international tourists.

  He further pointed out that Pailin Province is not only a renowned gem-producing region but also a province with a significant tangible and intangible cultural heritage, particularly proud of its culturally representative "Pailin Peacock Dance" and its unique agricultural product, "Pailin Longan."

  Furthermore, Pailin province is also an important destination for nature tourism, ecotourism, and agrotourism, such as the Phun Nguyen Son natural heritage area. These landscapes have long been places that tourists yearn to visit and experience firsthand. The scenery and charm of Pailin province have been meticulously depicted and praised by numerous poets and writers in songs and stories.
