Southeast Asia Information Harbor (www.dnyxxg.com) – Cambodia's Anti-Tech Crime Bureau recently arrested three Cambodian men suspected of using fake base station equipment and online fraud to send gambling, private loan, and other harassing messages.
The report indicates that the three suspects joined the company in March of this year and were responsible for driving vehicles equipped with fake base station equipment. They used this equipment to illegally send large amounts of spam and fraudulent text messages to the public.
It is understood that the suspects not only used fake base stations to send harassing text messages, but also carried out technical fraud by creating fake Telegram company websites. These fake websites used intimidating language, claiming that users' Telegram accounts had security problems, thereby tricking users into providing personal data, which they then used to commit further technical fraud crimes.
Currently, the three men have been transferred to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court and will be dealt with according to Cambodian law.
