Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) November 17, 2025 – Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen announced that Cambodia plans to domestically produce bulletproof vests for the Cambodian military and further export them to foreign markets based on orders.
In his speech, Hun Sen emphasized that the bulletproof vests to be produced in Cambodia will be branded "DSS," and revealed that he himself owns the factory.
Hun Sen stated, "Soon, we will have bulletproof vests under the 'DSS' brand to equip our military, and, upon receiving orders, export them to other countries. The brand is DSS, and I am the owner of this factory."
At the same time, Hun Sen also acknowledged that Cambodia had indeed faced shortages in supplying military bulletproof vests and helmets during past border clashes with Thailand. The main reason was that Cambodia had previously generally believed that war would not occur, leading to insufficient preparation.
However, Hun Sen pointed out that this situation has now been completely improved. He stated that the Cambodian army is now fully equipped with a sufficient number of bulletproof vests and other protective gear to ensure the safety and combat readiness of its troops.
