
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia (GDCE) is committed to promoting the digital transformation of customs, aiming to continuously improve the efficiency of public services, enhance trade facilitation, and ultimately optimize Cambodia's overall business environment.
This statement was made by Khun Ninh, Director General of the GDCE, at the 3rd Cambodia Customs Forum held recently in Phnom Penh. The forum, themed "Customs Management in the Context of Digital Technology," attracted numerous important participants.
The forum was attended by Duke Chen Fengming, President of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Coordinating Committee of the Private Sector Working Group of the Public-Private Forum Mechanism; senior officials from the GDCE; representatives from private companies; industry associations; entrepreneurs; domestic and international traders; and many other stakeholders.
The core objective of the forum was to promote the digitalization of customs procedures and public services to further enhance trade facilitation and compliance in Cambodia, laying the foundation for optimizing the business environment. The forum also provided an important platform for discussion and feedback mechanisms regarding practical implementation.
In his speech, Director General Khun Ninh emphasized that the customs digitalization plan is crucial for deepening the understanding of customs procedures and strengthening cooperation mechanisms between customs management departments and the private sector. He pointed out that through public-private partnerships, both sides can jointly promote Cambodia's tax culture and trade facilitation.
He stated, "The General Department of Customs of Cambodia has successfully implemented a series of measures that have effectively improved the efficiency, transparency, and accountability of customs work, winning the trust and support of all stakeholders."
Prince Chen Fengming highly praised the 3rd Cambodia Customs Forum, considering it of great significance, especially for the private sector. He noted that investors, entrepreneurs, and domestic and foreign traders can learn about new developments and adjustments in customs procedures through the forum, thereby better serving the import and export trade activities of the private sector.
Prince Chen Fengming also commended the General Department of Customs for the significant progress made in procedural adjustments and simplifications, believing that these measures have created a more convenient environment for investors to conduct import and export transactions.
