Cambodia Mine Action Center and its partners win international awards

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the 29th, Heng Lottanak, Director of the Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC), announced a significant achievement via his official social media account: the center, together with its international partners, has won a globally renowned humanitarian demining award.

  It is reported that at the 2025 Innovation Competition held in Luxembourg, the Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC), in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and NEC Corporation, won the prestigious award for its jointly developed "Artificial Intelligence Database of Explosive Remnants of War" project.

  This competition, hosted by the International Humanitarian Mine Action Center in Geneva, focused on "Improving the Accuracy of Unexploded ordnance Risk Assessment." The collaborative project of CMAC, JICA, and NEC was highly recognized by the international judging panel for its innovative practices in using artificial intelligence technology to improve the efficiency and accuracy of risk assessment.

  The award-winning project was funded by the Japanese government, implemented by the Cambodian Mine Action Center, and received strong technical assistance from NEC and JICA.

  This award not only demonstrates Cambodia's innovative capabilities in humanitarian demining, but also marks a milestone for CMAC in achieving Cambodia's "2025 mine-free goal".
