73 Cambodian-Chinese cyber fraud suspects detained in Svay Rieng province, Cambodia, awaiting trial

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) -- The Svay Rieng Provincial Court of Cambodia recently issued a notice formally charging 78 Cambodian and Chinese suspects involved in online fraud and ordered 73 of the arrested defendants to be detained pending trial.

  According to the court notice, police conducted an operation in Bavet, Svay Rieng Province, on the 19th of this month, successfully arresting 73 suspects involved in the case. Five Chinese suspects have escaped.

  The Svay Rieng Provincial Court formally charged the 78 Cambodian and Chinese defendants (including five fugitives) under Articles 29, 377, and 378 of the Criminal Code.

  The presiding judge subsequently issued a ruling ordering the detention of the 73 arrested defendants pending trial and ordered police to continue their pursuit of the five fugitives.
