Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Inside the workshop of Xintian Weijie Agricultural Ecological Technology Co., Ltd., located in Lijia Community, Taoling Town, Xintian County, Hunan Province, villagers are rushing to complete orders destined for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

They sit around pickled mustard greens, sorting, packing, and loading the golden semi-finished pickled mustard greens onto trucks. "Our main products are pickled cowpeas and pickled mustard greens," said Li Zhushi, the company's head. He explained that Xintian's soil is rich in selenium, making the vegetables grown there exceptionally crisp and tender, perfect for pickling, and demand exceeds supply.

"We mainly sell to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. When customer demand is high, we can ship up to three truckloads a day!" Li Zhushi said, pointing to the fully loaded trucks ready to depart.

Behind this booming production and sales is an increasingly intricate "wealth-generating chain." In 2025, the company, through an integrated "planting + processing + sales" model, mobilized over 400 people across the county to participate in planting and processing, processing 6 million jin (3 million kg) of pickled vegetables annually, successfully transforming farm produce into a sought-after commodity in the market.

With the company's expansion, villagers in Lijia Community have more hope. "Last year we planted over 100 mu (6.7 hectares), and the profits were very good. This year we plan to expand to over 500 mu (33 hectares)," said Li Hongbing, secretary of the Lijia Community Party Branch, calculating the increased income: "With the company's support, everyone not only earns income from selling vegetables but can also work in the factory. Idle labor can earn money right at their doorstep."

Liu Lingfeng, busy in the workshop, used to rely on cultivating a few mu (0.067 hectares) of barren land to make a living. Now she's a packaging worker in the factory. "I can earn 100 yuan a day, the work isn't tiring, and most importantly, I don't have to go far away. I can also take care of my grandson. Life is much more peaceful!" Liu Lingfeng skillfully packed the bags.

In the new year, Li Zhushi is full of confidence: "I plan to expand the planting area to over 5,000 mu, with a sales target of 10 million jin, mainly targeting the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. We also plan to engage in deep processing and finished product packaging to increase annual output value and help our fellow villagers achieve sustained income growth." (End)
