Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) February 4th marks the beginning of spring, signifying the revival of all things and the gradual emergence of spring. However, Heilongjiang Province has not yet entered spring in the climatological sense—spring, in climatology, refers to the period when the average temperature ranges from 10℃ to 22℃ (a five-day period). Currently, the province is still experiencing severe cold.

February 4th is both the first day of spring and the first day of the sixth nine-day period, past the coldest periods of the "Third and Fourth Nine-Day Periods." According to the weather forecast and related maps provided by the Heilongjiang Provincial Meteorological Bureau, from 8:00 AM on February 4th to 8:00 AM on February 5th, many areas in northern Daxing'anling and northern Heihe will be cloudy, while other areas will be cloudy turning overcast with light snow.

Regarding temperatures, on February 4th, daytime highs in northern Daxinganling will range from -18℃ to -16℃, while Mudanjiang will see highs of -3℃ to -1℃. Other areas will experience temperatures between -14℃ and -8℃. Nighttime lows will vary significantly, with northern Daxinganling reaching -35℃ to -33℃, and Harbin and Mudanjiang seeing lows of -17℃ to -15℃.

The Heilongjiang Provincial Meteorological Observatory issued a cold wave forecast on the evening of February 3rd, predicting that from the night of February 4th to the night of February 6th, minimum temperatures in Harbin, Mudanjiang, and other areas will drop by 8℃ to 10℃, with some areas experiencing a drop of 10℃ to 12℃, and isolated stations seeing drops of 12℃ to 14℃.

Data from 1991 to 2020 shows that temperatures in Heilongjiang Province gradually rise during the Spring Equinox period: the average temperature on the first day of the Spring Equinox is only -17.43℃, rising to -13.93℃ by the last day of the solar term, a cumulative increase of 3.50℃ over 15 days. Although there are slight fluctuations during this period, the overall trend is towards warmer temperatures. (End)
