Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Hubei Provincial Meteorological Bureau issued a message on the 20th, predicting a new round of heavy rainfall in the province from the early morning of the 21st to the 23rd. The area affected by this round of heavy rainfall highly overlaps with the area affected by the rainfall from the 18th to the 19th, requiring vigilance against the risk of geological disasters.

It is understood that this round of heavy rainfall will begin in the early morning of the 21st and move from south to north, with the strongest period from the night of the 21st to the morning of the 22nd and the night of the 22nd. Heavy to torrential rain is expected in southwestern Hubei, southern Jianghan Plain, and eastern Hubei, with a pronounced nighttime rainfall pattern.

Hubei entered the plum rain season on June 18th. From the 18th to the 19th, the province experienced its first round of heavy rainfall during the plum rain season, with heavy to torrential rain and localized extremely heavy rain moving from west to east. Meteorological experts stated that the area affected by this round of heavy rainfall highly overlaps with the area affected by the rainfall from June 18th to 19th. The mountainous areas in southwestern Hubei province, in particular, will experience large cumulative rainfall, leading to a high risk of secondary disasters such as flash floods, landslides, and mudslides. Furthermore, geological disasters have a delayed effect, requiring continued vigilance even after the rainfall subsides.

The Hubei Provincial Department of Natural Resources and the Hubei Provincial Meteorological Bureau jointly issued a geological disaster meteorological risk warning on June 20th. From 8:00 AM on June 20th to 8:00 AM on June 21st, the risk of landslides, mudslides, and collapses is expected to be high in Huangshi (western Yangxin County), Xianning (Chongyang County, Tongcheng County, and Tongshan County), and other areas experiencing heavy rainfall. Strengthened precautions are necessary. (End)
