据报道，当天正午，两名“停止石油运动”成员在巨石阵上喷涂橙色物质。当地警方称，已有2人因涉嫌破坏这座历史遗迹被捕。

英国广播公司(BBC)称，“停止石油运动”组织随后表示，这些橙色粉末是玉米粉，“可以被雨水冲走”。

据介绍，巨石阵位于英格兰威尔特郡，由几十块巨石围成一个大圆圈。它是人类史上最著名的人造史前遗址之一，也是英国最受游客欢迎的景点之一，于1986年入选联合国世界文化遗产。
