Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 2026 Paris Wine Show opened on the 9th local time. French President Macron, attending the opening ceremony, stated that the French wine industry needs to adapt to changing consumer trends to meet the challenges of the current market environment.

During his visit to the exhibition, Macron pointed out that wine consumption patterns are changing, with consumers increasingly favoring products with lower alcohol content and suitable for chilling. He stated that the French wine industry is capable of adapting to this change.

Macron emphasized that France, as the "wine country," occupies an important position in the global wine market. However, at the same time, French wine exports are facing multiple challenges, including increased international market competition and changes in the external trade environment. He pointed out that while consolidating the European market, the French wine industry needs to actively expand into emerging markets, including India, Canada, and Brazil.

Previously, it was reported that US President Trump had threatened to impose a 200% tariff on French wine. Macron stated that this approach is unacceptable. The French Agriculture Minister also pointed out that the threat was "extremely brutal," and that related measures would not only severely damage the already struggling French wine industry but could also trigger a joint countermeasure at the EU level.

It is understood that this year's Paris Wine Exhibition was held from February 9th to 11th. Since its inception, the exhibition has continuously expanded in scale and has become an important exchange platform for the global wine and spirits industry. (End)
