Britain announces new sanctions against Iran, including those targeting the Iranian Home Minister.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – According to Reuters, the UK announced a new round of sanctions against Iran on February 2nd, targeting Iranian law enforcement and 10 individuals, including Home Minister Momenini.

  According to a statement from the British Foreign Office, these sanctions are related to the recent unrest in Iran. Among those sanctioned are Mohammad Reza Hashimifar, police chief of Lorestan province; Saeed Majid Faiz Jafari, head of the Iranian Public Security Police; and Yadullah Bouari, commander of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Fars province.

  The British Foreign Office stated that the UK has to date imposed more than 550 sanctions on individuals and organizations related to Iran, including sanctions against the entire Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
