Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The UN Human Rights Council held a special session on the 23rd to discuss the human rights situation in Iran. Jia Guide, China's Permanent Representative to the UN Office at Geneva and other international organizations in Switzerland, elaborated on China's principled position.

Jia Guide pointed out that all countries have the right to independently choose their own path of human rights development, oppose interference in other countries' internal affairs under the guise of human rights issues, oppose the imposition of national human rights mechanisms without the consent of the countries concerned, and oppose double standards on human rights issues.

Jia Guide emphasized that what is happening in Iran is essentially an internal affair of Iran and should be decided independently by the Iranian people. China consistently advocates adherence to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and international law, opposes the use or threat of force in international relations, and opposes imposing its will on other countries.

Jia Guide stated that the international community should support the Iranian government and people in overcoming difficulties, maintaining national stability, and safeguarding their legitimate rights and interests, while respecting Iran's sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. China hopes that all parties will resolve differences through dialogue and is willing to play a constructive role in this regard. (End)
