French officials have confirmed that 14 French citizens were injured in the fire at a bar in Switzerland.

  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – A serious fire broke out at a bar in the renowned Swiss ski resort of Cronmontana during New Year's celebrations, causing significant casualties. The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on January 2nd that, as of now, 14 French citizens have been injured and treated, while the whereabouts of 8 others remain unknown.

  French Foreign Minister Barro stated that France has dispatched a burn specialist medical team to assess the treatment and support needs of the injured daily. France will also receive 11 injured individuals into French hospitals, including 3 Swiss citizens.

  According to a Swiss official report on January 2nd, the fire occurred in the early hours of January 1st, during a New Year's Eve celebration at the bar, where a large crowd was present. Swiss authorities, based on video footage and eyewitness accounts, speculate that the fire may have been caused by a lit candle on a champagne bottle or a small sparkler near the ceiling. The fire has resulted in approximately 40 deaths and 119 injuries, many of whom are in serious condition.

  Swiss prosecutors stated that two bar managers have been questioned, and the investigation is ongoing to determine whether criminal liability exists. (End)
