  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations held the launching meeting of the "Friends Group on Global Governance" at UN Headquarters in New York on the 9th, officially establishing the group.

  On the same day, Fu Cong, China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, chaired the meeting, which was attended by representatives from nearly 40 founding member states from around the world.

  Fu Cong stated that Chinese President Xi Jinping solemnly proposed the global governance initiative, emphasizing five core concepts: upholding sovereign equality, adhering to international rule of law, practicing multilateralism, advocating people-centeredness, and focusing on action. This is another important public good that China provides to the world, contributing Chinese wisdom and solutions to the reform and improvement of global governance. Guided by the global governance initiative, China proposed the establishment of the "Friends Group on Global Governance" to work with all parties to strengthen exchanges and cooperation on major issues in the field of global governance and promote the building of a more just and equitable global governance system. China is willing to work with members of the "Friends Group on Global Governance" to continuously improve the group's mechanism, deepen exchanges and cooperation, and contribute to the reform and improvement of global governance.

  Participating countries actively spoke at the meeting, highly recognizing and supporting the global governance initiative, warmly welcoming the establishment of the "Friends of Global Governance Group," praising China's leading role in global governance, and expressing their expectation that the "Friends of Global Governance Group" will strengthen policy communication and pragmatic cooperation to inject new impetus into upholding multilateralism and reforming and building the global governance system.

  Following the meeting, the "Friends of Global Governance Group" issued a joint statement emphasizing that its establishment is an important step in implementing the global governance initiative. The statement stressed the need to jointly safeguard the achievements of the victory in World War II, support the role of the United Nations, coordinate actions on major global governance issues, and sincerely invite more like-minded countries to join.
