Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the afternoon of November 20, 2025, a delegation led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Deputy Minister of National Defense of Vietnam, paid a courtesy call on Lieutenant General Khamlieng Outhakaysone, Minister of National Defense of Laos. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on deepening cooperation between the two militaries and jointly celebrating important milestones, demonstrating the profound foundation of the special relationship between Laos and Vietnam.

During the talks, Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang clearly stated that the Vietnam People's Army will provide comprehensive assistance to Laos in preparing for the series of celebrations for the 50th anniversary of Lao National Day (December 2, 1975 – December 2, 2025), covering key aspects such as rally organization, military parade rehearsals, and parade planning. He emphasized that this support is not limited to technical guidance, manpower assistance, and experience sharing, but also embodies the deep friendship and special spirit of cooperation between the two peoples that transcend time and space. "Vietnam has always been proud to accompany Laos on important historical occasions, and its support for the successful celebration of the 50th anniversary of Laos' founding is a vivid example of this special friendship."

Regarding bilateral interactions in 2025, Nguyen Truong Thang specifically thanked the Lao Ministry of National Defense for sending troops to participate in the military parades of two major Vietnamese events. He pointed out that Laos' active participation not only laid an important foundation for the success of the events but also directly demonstrated the unbreakable consensus and spiritual bond between the two militaries. Regarding future cooperation, Nguyen Truong Thang proposed that both sides strengthen coordination in the field of publicity and education, especially in promoting the inheritance and development of traditional friendship among the younger generation of both countries, injecting lasting vitality into the development of bilateral relations.

Khamleong Osasone highly praised the visit of the Vietnamese delegation, believing that this visit provided an important opportunity to consolidate the core pillar of Lao-Vietnam relations—defense cooperation. He emphasized that the relations between the two militaries and the two countries are rooted in unwavering, pure, and selfless strategic mutual trust, a trust that has become increasingly solid through the test of history. "From the struggle for national liberation to the defense of sovereignty, and then to national development and construction, the two countries have always moved forward side by side and supported each other," said Khamphanh Osasone. He added that Laos will uphold its traditional friendship and work hand in hand with Vietnam to continuously deepen and pass on this special relationship from generation to generation, thus paying tribute to the forefathers who sacrificed themselves for the independence, freedom, happiness, and peace of both countries' peoples with concrete actions.
