Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – According to the Saitama Shimbun, citing the Japan Meteorological Agency, three earthquakes of magnitude 5 or higher struck off the eastern coast of Honshu Island, Japan, between early morning and morning local time on the 9th.
The three earthquakes occurred at 5:29 AM, 6:04 AM, and 7:15 AM local time on the 9th, with magnitudes of 5.4, 5.5, and 5.8 respectively. The epicenters were all located off the Sanriku coast, east of Honshu Island.
Following the third earthquake, a magnitude 5.8 quake, noticeable tremors of intensity level 3 were felt in many parts of Iwate Prefecture. None of the three earthquakes triggered a tsunami.
