Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Laos and China officially launched the International Joint Research Center for Feed Testing Technology and Application in Vientiane, marking a new stage in bilateral cooperation in agricultural science and technology between the two countries.

The launch ceremony was jointly hosted by the Department of Livestock and Fisheries of the Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and China Agricultural University. Mr. Bouahhong Khamha, Director of the Department of Livestock and Fisheries of the Lao Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and Professor Liu Xian of China Agricultural University jointly unveiled the research center. Mr. Khamha Simala, Director of the Animal Feed Standards and Analysis Center under the Lao Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, presided over the event. During the event, both sides emphasized the increasingly close cooperation in advancing feed testing technology and ensuring feed safety standards.

Following the ceremony, Professor Liu Xian and his team conducted a two-day specialized training for Lao professionals in related fields. The training adopted a combination of theoretical explanation and practical demonstration, focusing on core technologies and standard methods for feed testing, helping to improve Laos' local feed quality assurance and safety monitoring capabilities.

The establishment of this center is an important milestone in deepening scientific and technological cooperation between China and Laos. Its core mission is to advance the research, application, and standardization of feed testing technologies, providing key technical support and a cooperation platform for improving the quality and safety of regional feed products, thereby promoting the healthy and sustainable development of animal husbandry.

The cooperation between China and Laos has a long history. Close communication has been maintained since 2019, and a memorandum of understanding was signed in 2022, formally establishing a partnership and laying a solid foundation for the establishment of the joint research center. The inauguration ceremony attracted nearly 60 representatives, including officials from the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, personnel from feed quality inspection agencies, representatives from the National University of Laos, and representatives from local feed companies.
