
Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) On the morning of October 30th, the Dike Management and Disaster Prevention Department under the Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Environment received international emergency aid supplies from the Russian Federal Government for the residents of Hue City, which was affected by torrential rains and floods, at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi.
The aid supplies included 58 rescue workboats, 1,000 sets of tableware, 1,000 blankets, 1,000 sets of bedding, 55 tents, and a large quantity of canned food, weighing approximately 29 tons. The supplies were transported by a special Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations aircraft, SUM 9121, and arrived at Noi Bai Airport at 6:35 AM on October 30th. After receiving the supplies, they are expected to be transferred to Hue City that same day for distribution to the affected population by local organizations.
Russian Ambassador to Vietnam, Gennady Bezdetko, expressed his condolences to the Vietnamese government and people for the losses caused by the recent floods in the northern and central regions and reiterated Russia's continued support for Vietnam's disaster prevention and mitigation efforts.
Nguyen Truong Son, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Dike Management and Disaster Prevention Department, expressed his gratitude for the valuable assistance from the Russian government and people, and pledged that the department would coordinate the timely delivery of relief supplies to Hue City to ensure that the affected people receive support as soon as possible.
