  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On January 30, 2026, Ms. Pawali Suthot Chaipatiut, Acting Director-General of the Ministry of ASEAN Affairs of Thailand, representing the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, attended the 25th ASEAN-China Senior Officials' Meeting on the Implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea (SOM-DOC) in Cebu, Philippines.

  The meeting reviewed the implementation of the DOC, exchanged in-depth views on the current situation in the South China Sea, and focused on accelerating the negotiation process of the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea (COC) and promoting the completion of negotiations according to the established timetable for 2026, laying the foundation for subsequent practical cooperation.

  Following the 25th SOM-DOC meeting, the 51st meeting of the ASEAN-China Joint Working Group on the Implementation of the DOC (JWG-DOC) will be held in Cebu, Philippines, from January 30 to February 1, 2026. The meeting continued to advance negotiations on the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea, and also conducted in-depth discussions on the work plan for the implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea in 2026, further consolidating consensus on cooperation.
