  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Data released by China's Ministry of Finance on the 24th shows that from January to May this year, total lottery sales nationwide reached 250.896 billion yuan (RMB), a year-on-year decrease of 4.7%. Among them, welfare lottery sales reached 83.331 billion yuan, a decrease of 6.3%; sports lottery sales reached 167.565 billion yuan, a decrease of 3.9%.

  In May, total lottery sales nationwide reached 52.863 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 7.3%. The Ministry of Finance explained that this was mainly due to the reduction in football-related events before the World Cup and the decline in instant lottery sales after a surge. Among them, welfare lottery sales reached 16.971 billion yuan, a decrease of 8.4%; sports lottery sales reached 35.892 billion yuan, a decrease of 6.8%.

  In May, compared with the same period last year, lottery sales increased in Hainan and Tibet. Lottery sales declined in the remaining 29 provinces, with Chongqing, Zhejiang, Shandong, and Jiangsu experiencing the largest declines.

  From January to May, compared with the same period last year, lottery sales increased in six provinces nationwide, with Henan, Gansu, Tibet, and Hebei seeing the largest increases. Lottery sales declined in 25 provinces, with Zhejiang, Chongqing, Jiangsu, and Shaanxi experiencing the most significant decreases.

  The Ministry of Finance has instructed lottery institutions at all levels to closely monitor and analyze new situations and problems, strengthen lottery issuance and sales efforts, and ensure the stable operation of the market. Finance departments at all levels are required to further strengthen lottery supervision, actively create a favorable external environment, maintain market order, and promote the sustained and healthy development of the lottery industry.
