Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the 22nd, it was learned from Yunnan Provincial Construction Investment Holding Group Co., Ltd. that a bidding consortium jointly formed by the company and Yunnan Airport Group Co., Ltd. recently won the bid for the Luang Prabang International Airport PPP project in Laos.
Luang Prabang International Airport is located on the outskirts of Luang Prabang City in northern Laos, approximately 300 kilometers from Vientiane, the capital of Laos, and approximately 950 kilometers from Kunming, China. It is Laos' second largest aviation hub.
The airport has been in operation for over 12 years, and its facilities and equipment are aging, with its capacity nearing saturation. Therefore, the Lao government initiated an international tender for investors to renovate and expand the airport. The project is divided into four phases, with subsequent phases of renovation and expansion based on passenger traffic growth. Upon completion of all four phases, the annual passenger throughput is expected to reach 3.6 million.
It is understood that the first phase of the project has a total investment of approximately RMB 277 million. The core implementation content includes upgrading the civil aviation safety system to compliance, expanding and optimizing parking positions, improving airport operational efficiency, and simultaneously improving passenger service facilities and air cargo facilities.
