Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 11th "Maker China" Pharmaceutical and Healthcare SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (hereinafter referred to as the "Competition") has recently launched its project submission phase. According to the schedule, the competition will hold preliminary rounds (online) and final rounds (offline) for both enterprise and startup groups. Registration is required through the official website of the competition before July 10, 2026.
The Competition is jointly organized by the Cybersecurity Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (Information Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) and the Kunming High-tech Industrial Development Zone Management Committee. Its aim is to gather entrepreneurial resources in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, create an innovative and entrepreneurial atmosphere, discover and cultivate outstanding projects and teams in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, actively promote the rapid transformation and application of scientific research results, and build a regional pharmaceutical and healthcare industry hub facing South and Southeast Asia.
The Competition closely follows the forefront of innovation in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry and the unique industrial advantages of Yunnan Province, and includes six sub-tracks.
The Innovative Drug track leverages local resources, focusing on Yunnan's unique traditional Chinese medicinal herbs and ethnic medicine resources. It also solicits innovative achievements globally, including Class 1 innovative drugs, improved new drugs, and high-end formulations targeting major diseases, possessing independent intellectual property rights and clear clinical value.
The Biopharmaceutical track prioritizes innovative projects in core areas such as therapeutic antibodies, novel vaccines, and recombinant proteins. It also encourages projects leveraging Yunnan and surrounding biodiversity resources to discover new resources and transform active ingredients.
The Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) track focuses on the forefront of life sciences, covering innovative projects representing future medical directions such as immune cell therapy, stem cell therapy, gene editing, and nucleic acid drugs.
The Synthetic Biology track solicits biomanufacturing projects based on cutting-edge technologies such as gene editing and metabolic engineering. It prioritizes supporting the green biosynthesis of high-value pharmaceutical compounds and natural active ingredients, as well as the industrialization of bio-based new materials, promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional manufacturing models.
The Natural Health Products track leverages Yunnan's resource advantages, focusing on distinctive raw materials such as Panax notoginseng, Gastrodia elata, and Dendrobium. It seeks high-value-added consumer goods projects centered on natural plant extracts and possessing specific health benefits, covering multiple health-related consumer sectors including functional foods, health foods, and high-end daily chemicals.
The Medical Devices and Digital Health track focuses on domestic substitution and digital integration, seeking innovative domestic projects in areas such as high-end imaging equipment, in-vitro diagnostics, surgical robots, and high-value medical consumables. It also welcomes innovative service model projects driven by artificial intelligence and big data, including digital healthcare, smart elderly care, and telemedicine. (End)
