Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – During the 10th China-South Asia Expo, the Lancang-Mekong Cross-border Economic Cooperation and Trade Matching Activity was successfully held. The Cambodian delegation actively showcased its investment advantages and development potential, clearly expressing its firm support for and active participation in promoting regional economic integration.
Cambodian Secretary of State for Commerce, Ban Sok Viet, attended the event and gave an investment presentation. In his keynote speech, he emphasized Cambodia's core development advantages: a sound economic foundation, a continuously improving business environment, and a strategic location at a key node in the regional supply chain. He stated that the Royal Government of Cambodia has always been committed to creating an open and convenient business environment, vigorously promoting trade development, actively attracting foreign direct investment, and continuously deepening economic ties and connectivity with neighboring countries.
According to the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, the core objectives of this delegation's participation in the expo were threefold: first, to expand the space for two-way investment cooperation among Lancang-Mekong River Basin countries; second, to build a precise matching platform to facilitate efficient connections between enterprises and investors from various countries; and third, to promote the integration of business resources and cooperation between the Chinese, ASEAN, and South Asian markets. Furthermore, the event provided a channel for policy dialogue, helping countries reach consensus and deepen cooperation in areas such as investment facilitation, logistics connectivity, and regional market integration.
At the event, the Cambodian delegation held in-depth discussions with several international investors, exchanging ideas and exploring directions for potential cooperation projects, hoping to promote Cambodia's economic growth and industrial upgrading through pragmatic cooperation.
Ban Sok Viet mentioned that the current global economic landscape is constantly changing, highlighting the increasing importance of deepening regional cooperation. Countries are actively promoting infrastructure connectivity, strengthening the resilience of industrial and supply chains, and jointly exploring new growth points and cooperation opportunities in trade and investment.
Cambodia's active participation in this trade and economic matchmaking event is also one of the key initiatives of its Ministry of Commerce—actively connecting with international markets to attract high-quality investment, help local enterprises expand their markets, and consolidate economic ties with regional partners. These actions will not only provide strong support for Cambodia's long-term development goals of sustainable and inclusive growth but will also further solidify its important position as an emerging trade and investment destination in Southeast Asia.
