Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Land Rover Laos officially launched the all-new 2026 Defender in Vientiane on May 8th. This plug-in hybrid SUV, built upon 78 years of brand heritage, integrates cutting-edge technology, luxurious features, and superior off-road performance, bringing a new high-end travel option to the Lao market that combines ruggedness and intelligence. Currently, the new vehicle is on display, available for test drives, and sold at the Land Rover Laos showroom on Kham Phung Mang Road, Saysettha District, Vientiane.

As the "spiritual totem" of the Land Rover brand, the 2026 Defender continues its iconic rugged design language while undergoing refined upgrades: the front features advanced LED headlights and a redesigned bumper, while the rear adopts concealed taillights to enhance the overall look, paired with new-generation alloy wheels, injecting modern texture into the retro silhouette. The body retains the classic "Defender" logo and boxy outline, showcasing the powerful presence of an all-terrain vehicle. In terms of powertrain, the new vehicle features a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 2.0-liter engine and an electric motor, delivering a combined maximum power of 404 horsepower. This system optimizes energy efficiency while providing strong power, achieving a balance between performance and environmental friendliness. For off-road capabilities, the vehicle is equipped with an upgraded second-generation Terrain Response system, supporting 8+1 terrain and driving modes. The automatic mode uses sensors to autonomously assess road conditions and match the optimal driving plan, while the wading mode displays wading depth in real time and, in conjunction with brake disc dewatering, confidently handles complex road conditions.

The interior is technologically advanced, enhancing the luxury experience: a 13.1-inch floating touchscreen integrates the latest Pivi Pro infotainment system, supporting features such as customizable radio stations, voice control, and Apple CarPlay connectivity, offering convenient operation and smooth interaction. The redesigned center console optimizes ergonomics and uses high-quality materials, balancing practicality and luxury. In terms of safety features, the new vehicle is equipped with a driver attention monitoring system, a 3D all-around surround view camera system, and all-terrain "see-through" technology, protecting driving safety while reducing driving difficulty in complex road conditions.

Nouchana Chaleunsouk, General Manager of Land Rover Laos, stated, "The new Defender embodies Land Rover's 78 years of all-terrain technology accumulation and innovative vision. Through the fusion of unique design and cutting-edge technology, it brings a unique driving experience to Lao customers. We believe that this model, which combines rugged performance with luxurious comfort, will meet the diverse needs of local consumers for high-quality travel."
