Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) Currently, consumers' demand for natural, safe, and traceable health care products is increasing, presenting a significant opportunity for market expansion in the medicinal plant sector. Deeply integrating the development of the medicinal plant industry with high-tech agriculture and the "One Village One Product" (OCOP) program has become an effective path to enhance product added value and strengthen market competitiveness.
Le Van Van, manager of the Sukova High-Tech Agriculture and Medicinal Plant Cooperative in Lai Chau Province, stated that the first Spring Expo in 2026 is expected to serve as an important trade promotion platform, helping cooperatives promote their brands, stimulate consumer demand, and further expand their participation in the domestic medicinal plant value chain.
Since its establishment, the cooperative has established technological application and quality control as the core foundation for sustainable development. The entire cultivation process for various medicinal plants, including Cordyceps sinensis, is completed in a sterile environment, with meticulous control over key indicators such as temperature, humidity, and light at different growth stages to ensure product quality.
Currently, the cooperative focuses on core products such as raw Cordyceps sinensis, Cordyceps sinensis culture medium, and Ganoderma lucidum. Two of these products have passed OCOP assessment and obtained grade certification, laying a solid foundation for brand building and market expansion. These products focus on the health and wellness sector, precisely aligning with the current consumer trend of "prevention first," and possess considerable market potential.
Li Wenyun pointed out that the cooperative abandons a scale-expansion-oriented approach, adhering to a quality-first development path. Through standardized production processes and full-chain quality control—strictly controlling every step from strain cultivation to product packaging and storage—it builds a differentiated competitive advantage. Simultaneously, it clearly defines the target consumer group and market positioning for each product category, continuously enhancing its overall competitiveness.
2026 has been designated by the cooperative as a crucial year for increasing product added value through deep processing. While stabilizing traditional product production, the cooperative plans to increase investment in equipment, focusing on developing convenient products such as medicinal plant tea bags, as well as ready-to-eat processed products tailored to daily health needs, enriching its product portfolio.
The cooperative has high hopes for participating in the 2026 Spring Expo, aiming not only to achieve its direct sales goals but also to leverage this platform to expand its customer network, connect with partners, and build distribution channels. By showcasing the product production process, traceability system, and core efficacy, the cooperative aims to allow consumers to intuitively understand the product's value, further enhancing brand awareness and market trust.
In the long term, the cooperative will fully utilize collective economic resources, the OCOP project, and relevant support policies for high-tech agriculture to gradually expand its market scale, create a sustainable and distinctive brand of medicinal plants, inject momentum into local economic development, and simultaneously contribute to enhancing the overall value of Vietnam's medicinal plant industry.
