Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – A recent annual report released by Cambodia's Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training shows that despite the impact of global economic fluctuations, the country's industrial and manufacturing sectors have achieved growth against the trend, demonstrating strong resilience. Data shows that Cambodia added 310 garment factories in 2025, bringing the total number of factories nationwide to 1,876, a 19% increase from 1,566 at the end of 2024.

The report shows that by the end of 2025, the total number of factories and enterprises across all sectors in Cambodia exceeded 46,000, a steady increase of approximately 6.5% from 43,200 in 2024. These enterprises collectively employ approximately 2.14 million workers, covering key sectors of the national economy such as agriculture, industry, and manufacturing, laying a solid foundation for employment stability and economic development.

Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training spokesperson Sun Messa stated that the continued establishment of new factories fully demonstrates international investors' strong confidence in Cambodia's talent development policies and investment environment. He emphasized that the garment, footwear, and travel goods (GFT) industry remains a cornerstone of the national economy, and export growth not only stabilizes existing jobs but also broadens diversified career development paths for the public.

The latest statistics from the Ministry of Commerce show that Cambodia's total GFT exports reached US$15.5 billion in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 15.8%. Among them, garment exports reached US$11.4 billion, a year-on-year increase of 16.5%; footwear exports reached US$2.09 billion, a year-on-year increase of 24.5%; and travel goods exports reached US$2.02 billion, a year-on-year increase of 3.8%. The United States, the European Union, Canada, and Japan remain its main export markets.

Pan Sok Viet, Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, analyzed that the in-depth implementation of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) has built a stable international trade platform for Cambodian exports. These cooperation mechanisms have not only enhanced the international competitiveness of Cambodian products but also provided solid support for the country to withstand global economic fluctuations.
