The Jiangxi Provincial Government Information Office and Nanchang Customs jointly held a press conference on Jiangxi's foreign trade import and export situation in 2025. At the press conference, Kuang Li introduced that in 2025, Jiangxi's imports and exports to countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative reached 265.82 billion yuan (RMB), an increase of 13.9%; imports and exports to Latin America and Africa increased by 10.9% and 11.1% respectively.
Wang Jie, Deputy Director of the Statistics and Analysis Department of Nanchang Customs, believes that with the solid progress of high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, the implementation of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area 3.0, and the release of the benefits of upgraded China-Africa cooperation, Jiangxi enterprises are actively integrating into the global industrial and value chains, leading to a faster growth rate in intermediate goods trade.
According to statistics, Jiangxi's imports and exports of intermediate goods reached 348.06 billion yuan in 2025, an increase of 4.8%. Among them, imports and exports to ASEAN and Africa increased significantly by 31.8% and 12.6% respectively.
Electric vehicles, photovoltaic products, and lithium batteries—the "new three pillars"—have become important commodities driving Jiangxi's exports. In 2025, Jiangxi's exports of these "new three pillars" reached 27.44 billion yuan, an increase of 89.1% compared to 2020.
2025 is the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan. Over the past five years, Jiangxi's goods have reached more than 200 countries and regions.
Wang Jie said that during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Jiangxi's import and export value with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative grew at an average annual rate of 6.9%, while imports and exports to emerging markets such as ASEAN, Latin America, and Africa grew at an average annual rate of 11.8%, 13.7%, and 6% respectively.
