  According to a press conference held on the 21st by Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) on Hunan Province's foreign trade import and export situation in 2025, Hunan's total import and export volume reached 541.41 billion yuan in 2025, maintaining a scale above 500 billion yuan for five consecutive years, representing a 10.8% increase compared to 2020, the final year of the 13th Five-Year Plan, demonstrating a stable overall foreign trade situation.

  Several sectors of Hunan's foreign trade achieved new milestones. For example, automobile exports exceeded 30 billion yuan for the first time, reaching 33.84 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 26.8%, with electric vehicle exports exceeding 100,000 units for the first time, a year-on-year increase of 128.2%. The number of enterprises with import and export performance reached 9,113, a year-on-year increase of 9.6%. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Changsha Customs saw a 32.2% increase in the number of import and export declarations and a 98% increase in the number of import and export goods compared to the 13th Five-Year Plan period, indicating a vibrant foreign trade sector in Hunan.

  In 2025, Hunan continued to promote market diversification, with its trade network basically covering the globe, achieving import and export growth with 118 countries and regions. Among them, the province's imports and exports to countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative reached 320.08 billion yuan, accounting for 59.1% of the province's total imports and exports, an increase of 2.5 percentage points compared to 2024. Imports and exports to emerging markets such as ASEAN, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East increased by 2.8%, 6.6%, 5.8%, and 2.4% year-on-year, respectively. Imports and exports to African countries reached 58 billion yuan, a record high, ranking first in central and western China for seven consecutive years and remaining above 50 billion yuan for four consecutive years.

  Hunan's export structure continued to optimize. According to the report, in 2025, Hunan's exports reached 320.76 billion yuan. Looking at traditional industries, exports of construction machinery, agricultural machinery, and lighters reached 34.68 billion yuan, 730 million yuan, and 2.46 billion yuan, respectively, representing year-on-year increases of 9.6%, 65.6%, and 21%. Looking at emerging industries, exports of high-tech products closely related to new productive forces reached 39.92 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.4%, of which exports of high-end equipment reached 18.12 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23.2%.

  Hunan's import scale remained stable with a slight increase. In 2025, Hunan's imports reached 220.65 billion yuan. Among these, imports of aircraft parts and coffee saw significant increases. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, the province's average annual import volume reached 204.53 billion yuan, a 29.4% increase compared to 2020. The continuous rise in import volume not only met the needs of Hunan's industrial enterprises for expanding production and technological upgrading but also enriched the consumption choices of the people of Hunan.
