Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – China's Ministry of Commerce issued an announcement on July 7th, deciding to initiate an anti-dumping investigation into imports of dichlorosilane originating from Japan, effective immediately.

A spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce stated that the investigation was initiated in response to an application from domestic industry. Preliminary evidence submitted by the applicant shows that from 2022 to 2024, the quantity of dichlorosilane imported from Japan generally increased, while the price cumulatively decreased by 31%, indicating that dumped imports from Japan have damaged the production and operations of domestic industry in China.

After receiving the application, the investigating authority reviewed it in accordance with relevant Chinese laws and regulations and WTO rules, and determined that the application met the conditions for initiating an anti-dumping investigation, thus deciding to initiate the investigation.

According to the announcement, the dumping investigation period is from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025, and the injury investigation period is from January 1, 2022 to June 30, 2025.

Silicon dichlorodihydrogen precipitate (SDD) is mainly used in thin film deposition during chip manufacturing (such as epitaxial films, silicon carbide films, silicon nitride films, silicon oxide films, and polycrystalline silicon films) to produce logic chips, memory chips, analog chips, and other types of chips. It can also be used to synthesize silicon-based precursors and polysilazanes. (End)
