  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) Recently, the National Copyright Administration guided the China Academy of Press and Publication to complete a research report on "The Economic Contribution of China's Copyright Industry in 2024." The research shows that in 2024, the added value of China's copyright industry reached RMB 10.06 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 7.31%; accounting for 7.46% of GDP, an increase of 0.02 percentage points from the previous year. Among them, the added value of the core copyright industry was RMB 6.37 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 7.43%, accounting for 4.72% of GDP. The status of the copyright industry in the national economy has become increasingly prominent.

  From 2020 to 2024, the added value of China's copyright industry increased from RMB 7.51 trillion to RMB 10.06 trillion, and its share of GDP rose from 7.39% to 7.46%, an increase of 0.07 percentage points. Among them, the added value of the core copyright industry (including publishing, recording, film, radio and television, software, and other industries whose output value all comes from copyright) increased from RMB 4.75 trillion to RMB 6.37 trillion, and its share of GDP rose from 4.67% to 4.72%. The software and information technology services, digital publishing, radio and television and online audiovisual, and film industries are developing well.

  China's copyright industry has maintained steady progress, playing a positive role in maintaining overall employment stability and promoting high-quality and full employment. In 2024, the number of urban employees in China's copyright industry was 15.895 million, accounting for 9.63% of the total urban employment nationwide, an increase of 0.01 percentage points year-on-year. China's copyright industry's foreign trade has maintained steady growth, with a continuously optimized export trade structure. In 2024, the value of China's copyright industry's merchandise exports reached US$421.165 billion, accounting for 11.78% of the total merchandise exports nationwide, maintaining a stable share of over 11% in the total merchandise exports for many consecutive years.
