Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Driven by the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port, Hainan's cross-border e-commerce exports are booming. Haikou Customs disclosed on December 30th that since the opening of Sanya's first cross-border e-commerce export charter flight route on August 24th this year, as of December 29th, Sanya Airport has exported over 870,000 cross-border e-commerce parcels, with a value exceeding 80 million yuan.
In the early morning of December 29th, the international cargo area of Sanya Phoenix International Airport was bustling with activity. Under the supervision of Sanya Airport Customs, a branch of Haikou Customs, a batch of cross-border e-commerce parcels containing holiday decorations, gifts, clothing, and other goods were ready to be transported to Italy via a dedicated cross-border e-commerce air freight line. Overseas consumers can receive "Made in China" goods in as little as 15 hours.
Driven by the Christmas and New Year's holiday atmosphere, overseas consumers' demand for holiday goods has increased. Major cross-border e-commerce websites have launched vigorous promotional activities, bringing a peak in cross-border e-commerce exports to Sanya Airport. “From November to December, we ship approximately 300,000 e-commerce parcels from Sanya Airport each month,” said the head of Yiyun Cross-border Logistics (Hainan) Co., Ltd. “Our clients have high demand for inventory and demanding timeliness. Weekend appointments for customs clearance and inspection allow us to conduct inspections immediately upon arrival, ensuring ‘zero delays’ in customs clearance, release, loading, and shipment.”
To further promote the high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce at Sanya Airport, Sanya Airport Customs has established a dedicated inspection area for cross-border e-commerce at the airport cargo terminal, implementing a 24/7 customs clearance model and achieving permanent “instant inspection upon arrival” to meet the customs clearance needs of enterprises during their short off-hours. At the same time, it continuously optimizes the internal operational processes of document review, inspection, and release, and guides enterprises to adopt simplified declaration methods to further improve the efficiency of port cargo clearance.
"We have simplified customs clearance procedures for export enterprises, continuously improved regulatory efficiency and service levels, and promoted the development of new foreign trade formats in Sanya through cross-border e-commerce exports. We are also actively expanding cross-border e-commerce export logistics channels and fully supporting the high-quality development of Sanya's cross-border e-commerce industry," said Xia Yujie, Deputy Director of Sanya Airport Customs.
The customs authorities stated that they will continue to focus on deepening the achievements in facilitating cross-border trade, and will fully guarantee the healthy development of cross-border e-commerce through institutional integration and innovation, and optimized regulatory services, thereby fully unleashing the trade potential of the Hainan Free Trade Port's airport.
